Think of it, in this modern hi-tech age of gadgets and gizmos, what we saw was a street vendor telling an officer on a horse about a crude bomb. This is a scene that (minus the SUV) could have taken place in 1875! And there is a lesson in this: there’s no substitute for eyes on the street and good old-fashioned policing.
